Service Disruption: Farm EBD

We have a scheduled disruption of service (voice and data) on Saturday, April 18th, 2020.

The disruption is necessary to facilitate the splicing of a damaged Southern fiber at Farm EBD.

Areas which may be affected are as follows:

2. Ameila’s Ward,

3. Christian Burg,

4. Wisrock,

5. Linden,

6. Soesdyke,

7. Ituni,

8. Kwakwani,

9. Mahadia,

10. Canvas City.

Pending favorable weather, work will commence at 00:00hrs and conclude at 20:00hrs on the above-mentioned date.

Services will be restored intermittently during this exercise.

There is an ongoing scam where persons are being asked to pay for care packages. Please note that the company will not ask customers to pay for COVID-19 care packages.

This exercise was necessary to upgrade the backhaul link between the Mahaica ASR and Mahaica Switch at the Exchange.

Emergency Maintenance- WCD

We have an emergency maintenance exercise on the West Coast of Demerara on April 3, 2020 from 01:00hr to 05:00hrs.

This exercise is necessary to load balance the traffic on new links between Hague  and Zeeburg Exchanges.

Voice, data and mobile traffic from Anna Catherina to Charity will experience intermittent service disruption.

Know your MMG Fees

MMG Rates

With the closure of GTT stores effective April 1, GTT is calling on Mobile Money Guyana (MMG) agents not to increase their fees.

Since the closure of stores, customers have reported that some MMG agents have increased their prices for bill payments. 

GTT’s Public Relations Manager, Jasmin Harris, explained that while all bill payments are free through an individual's MMG, some bills attract a small fee - $40-$100GYD - when being paid through an agent.

“MMG agents are representatives of GTT and have agreed to certain terms and conditions when providing service to the customer. We urge customers to visit https://bit.ly/39Bf1Ad to familiarize themselves with the fees associated with different bill payments,” Harris said. 

The list of MMG agents who are required to follow the fee schedule can be found at http://bit.ly/MMG-AGENTS. Harris further noted that any agent found deviating from the fixed fee schedule will be subject to suspension. Customers can make reports of increased fees to 0488 or through the live chat option.
