2. What are the benefits of GTT Fibre?

3. How fast is GTT Fibre?
With GTT Fibre you can get download speed of up to 150 Mbps and upload speed of up to 25 Mbps. There are three speed to choose from: 50 Mbps, 100 Mbps and 150 Mbps.
4. How will GTT Fibre add value to my daily activities?
GTT Fibre meets the needs for faster internet connectivity especially in the age of high-definition media. Your experience will be significantly different while streaming HD content over your TV, or while many of your family members use the internet simultaneously on their handsets, tablets and laptops. For your Smart TV’s, game consoles, streaming TV boxes, etc, an ethernet connection is advised for a better/more stable connection.

6. What plans will be available for GTT Fibre?
GTT Fibre comes at three optional speeds: 50 mbps; 100 mbps; and 150 mbps.

7. What is the upfront installation cost?
There is an installation fee of $20,000 (VAT inclusive). Service is billed monthly and is based on the plan selected.
8. Can I get multiple GTT Fibre connection in one (1) house?
Yes, you can.
9. How can I move from DSL to GTT Fibre?

10. Is there a contract?
Yes, there is a one year contract. The early termination penalty is 2 months rental (of the current service).
11. Should I purchase a Wi-Fi router?
The modem router provided by GTT is a 5 GHz device with a range of 450ft. Customers can purchase their own Wi-Fi router or extender if required.
12. If I have the 50Mbps plan will I get that speed over Wi-Fi?
The speed of internet over Wi-Fi is dependent on the modem capacity and also on the capability of the connected device (handset, tablet, laptop, SmartTV, etc.). GTT Fibre is over a shared network, you will receive speeds up to 50Mbps based on the environment and layout of your home. Refer to the point above regarding Wi-Fi extenders and point below for speed test.
13. How do I run a Speed Test?
The speed test should only be done when there is only one device (device that the speed test will be performed) connected in the house. Tests should be done via a physical connection (ethernet cable) to your computer. You should use http://gttgy.speedtestcustom.com/ to test via a GTT server.
14. Is the GTT Fibre modem a 2.4 GHz or 5GHz?
It is a 5GHz that offers coverage for farther distances, but may perform at slower speeds depending on distance.
15. Will installation be done by GTT or by the customer?
New services and replacement will ONLY be installed by a GTT technician.
16. How long do I wait for GTT Fibre to be installed?
Service installation will take 7-10 working days after payment is made.
17. Can I relocate my GTT Fibre modem within my house?
Yes. Once it is within the span of the internal cabling installed by GTT. However, if you need a complete relocation due to internal construction etc., please call GTT to schedule an appointment with a technician. This additional service costs $10,000.
18. I am unable to get Wi-Fi signal at the other end of my house?
When installing the GTT Fibre modem, it should be placed at a central location that would enable the signal to be properly dispersed. If the building is designed in such a way that this placement is not possible, one or multiple repeaters / extenders, or a wireless router with greater coverage capability may be required.
19. How do I change my Wi-Fi password?
How to change your password on a Calix Modem:
Connect to your Wi-Fi network and follow the six steps below:
- Step 1: Enter 192.168.1.1 into your internet browser (Safari, Google Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Edge, Internet Explorer etc.) and then click Enter or GO.
- Step 2: Enter Username and Password
Username: Admin
Password: [located on the back or front of the Calix modem]
- Step 3 – Click on “Wireless” >> The 2.4G Network will be displayed
- Step 4: Click on “Security” >> then select the radio button next to “Use Custom Security Key” and enter your new Wi-Fi Password in the text field.
- Step 5: Click “Apply” and your changes will be automatically saved
- Step 6: Click on the “5G Network” >> then repeat steps 4 & 5
How to change your Wi-Fi Password on Zhone Modem:
Connect to your Wi-Fi network and follow the seven simple steps below:
- Step 1: Enter 192.168.1.1 into your internet browser (Safari, Google Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Edge, Internet Explorer etc.) then click Enter or GO.
- Step 2: Enter the Username and Password
- Username: user
- Password: gttuser
- Step 3: After successful login to the GTT Fibre terminal. Click on Configuration.
- Step 4: On the configuration page, click Wireless then click Security.
- Step 5: Backspace the Dots (*******) in the WPA/WAPI passphrase section.
- Step 6: Enter a new password
- Step 7: Scroll down and click Apply/ Save
