| GT&T and Cel* sign interconnection agreement |
| CEO says company not afraid of competition |

| After several months of negotiations between the two companies, signatures of agreement were affixed to a contract which would allow Cel* Guyana Ltd, interconnection through GT&T’s network. |

| In keeping with the government’s continued effort to liberalize the telecommunication industry, Cell* Guyana was last year granted licence to provide cellular service in Guyana. |

| Singing on behalf of GT&T, CEO, Sonita Jagan said that the signing was a “very important milestone in the sense that there is always the talk about competition and of GT&T not wanting anyone in the country”. Ms. Jagan also expressed the willingness of the Company to do business with legitimate investors and will guard against those not serious about doing serious investment in Guyana. |

| The CEO said that GT&T is not afraid of competition and is willing to do business with legitimate investors. She however warned that GT&T will be a “tough competitor”. She revealed that the GT&T has invested over US$170M, and it is the company’s intention to continue to invest in Guyana as “we try to carry telecommunication and this country forward”. |

| Mr. Gregory Libertiny, Vice President business Development, Trans World Telecom Caribbean (TWTC), parent company of Cel*Star Guyana Inc. said that the agreement was a fair one which came after fair negotiations. |

| United States Ambassador, Godard said that the agreement was a significant milestone marking the partnership between the large US investment in Guyana by Atlantic Tele Network (ATN) and the new entrant also a subsidiary of a US-owned company. |

| Prime Minister Sam Hinds urged that lessons be learnt from the signing, it shows that we can have a good life but we must work for it. |

The ceremony was attended by officials of the private and public sectors, consumer bodies, the utility regulator and members of the diplomatic corp. |
