GT&T Support East Coast Based Disabled Group
Members of the East Coast Demerara Community Based Rehabilitation Programme (CBR) which promotes the rehabilitation of persons with disabilities and their families through community based initiatives have been gifted with a four burner gas cooker by GT&T which according to the Chairman would enrich many lives in the community.
The presentation of the gas cooker will assist the group in the development of culinary skills will also be used as part of the group’s income generation programme, through the sale of foods made on the cooker.
The presentation was made based on the group’s request for the Company to “contribute to the creation of an enabling environment that will allow persons with disabilities to realize their full potentials”.
In presenting the gas cooker, the Company’s PRO Ms. Allison Parker said that GT&T has always been willing to contribute to the development of the social and other sectors of the country and will continue to do so based on the merit of the programme/activity.
Chairman of the group Mr. Gregory Glasgow thanked the Company for the cooker and said that many lives would be enriched through the gift. He also praised GT&T for the continued support that has been given over the years and looked forward to continued support.
The especially thanked CEO, Major General (ret’d) Joe Singh who has been an avid supporter and advocate for the Group.
